DIDACTIC CHESTNUT GROVE

In recent years, we have decided to focus on the touristic and educational role that fruit-bearing chestnut groves can play by creating a didactic farm, where visitors can immerse themselves in the centuries-old chestnut culture.

Who is it for?

  • Preschool and school-age children, teenagers, adults, families, and groups.

Opening Period:

  • From March to November

Visit Description:

Through a 1.5-hour guided walk in the chestnut grove, our guests can enjoy a fully immersive educational journey dedicated to discovering the world of the Garessina Chestnut.

The visit covers:

  • Playful aspects (interaction with forest animals and the “talking” ancient tree).

  • Cultural aspects (heritage of traditions and knowledge related to chestnut cultivation).

  • Agricultural aspects (the process of chestnut grafting, from theory to practice).

The experience concludes at Lo Scau (the drying house), an original 19th-century stone and wood structure, completely restored in 2018. Here, visitors learn about the traditional chestnut drying process, which is still carried out today in the historic drying house.

At the end of the visit, guests are treated to a “merenda sinoira” (light dinner) / tasting of the farm’s products.

Duration:

  • Approximately 2 hours

Cost:

  • €15 per person, including merenda sinoira / tasting of farm products.

  • Discounted rates available for school groups, associations, corporate groups, and organized tours.

  • Free for children up to 3 years old.
